Object Name Phacops rana
Description Coke is the solid portion left after placing good soft coal in a closed beehive retort and subjecting it to intense heat of 2552 degrees F. This drives out the gas, liquids of coal tar, ammonia, coal gas, naptha, benzoil and so forth. The final product is pure carbon. Used chiefly for blast furnaces for melting iron.
