Object Name Colander
Description Colander-- a large bowl shaped tin with perforations over the base and around the sides. Its has wire handles on opposite sides and is about the right size to set on a gallon crock. Used to separated the liquid form fruits and vegetables. It served the purpose of removing the fruit pulp from the pits when jams and jellies were made in the home. Mrs I. N. Cassidy used this in the 1880's.
