Milk Bucket - This bucket is made of heavy tin and is cylindrical in shape. It has a heavy metal handle arched, and rim like base to protect the bottom of the bucket. Milking was done and strained in wide open crocks. The following day the cream was skimmed for butter. Cows were in the pasture during the day and brought to the owner at night to be milked. Cows were kept in a pen over night. They were there to be milked the next morning before being taken back to pasture. |
